We know that cosmetics are the substances applied to enhance the appearance of the user. Cosmetics have many types and their use is widespread not only among women. Many of us maybe don't know that the first evidence of cosmetics usage found by the archaeologist was in Egypt approximately 3500 BC. For all we know cosmetics have been used for many thousand of years. In Western history around 1880s the use of cosmetic or makeup was somehow disapprove at some points, one of the reason maybe Queen Victoria publicly declared makeup “impolite,” and makeup became socially unacceptable for women but prostitutes and actresses or actors.

In 1900s makeup began to acquire the symbolic and economic standing that it holds today, with increasing numbers of user especially women. It's says that L'Oreal is the oldest and the largest cosmetics firm, founded by Eugene Schueller in 1909, and the cosmetics market only started to develop in 1910s when Max Factor, Elizabeth Arden and Helena Rubinstein jumped on board. Revlon joined the market in 1930s and later Estee Lauder.

Cosmetic Surgery Is A Ladder To Success

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), in their recent survey on 756 women has revealed many women believe cosmetic surgery is a ladder to success . Here are the finding as compiled by The American Society of Plastic Surgeons: -73 percent of the respondents believe, appearance and youthful looks play a part in getting hired, getting a promotion, or getting new clients. -80 percent believe, having cosmetic surgery can boost a person's confidence. -13 percent say, they would consider having a cosmetic medical procedure specifically to boost confident and more competitive in the employment market. -3 percent of the respondents reveal they've already had a cosmetic procedure to enhance their perceived value in the workplace.
